What We Do

The Home Front Cares serves all of Colorado's military community—every branch of service, active duty, Guard, Reserve or veteran. In order to qualify for assistance, those applying must be suffering a hardship that is in some way tied to their military service. If you or your family are in financial need, and you qualify for our assistance we can help with:

  • Rent
  • Utility bills
  • Car payments/insurance/small repairs
  • Other essential life expenses or emergency costs

Our Difference

Our Case Review Committee is always on standby, and many cases approved in 24 to 48 hours to provide our clients a critical financial bridge

Colorado-Focused: Money raised in Colorado stays in Colorado, and we serve the entire state. Our clients come from the Western Slope to the Eastern Plains, and currently nearly 40% live in the Metro Denver area.

HOW OUR GRANTS WORK

Our financial aid consists of grants, typically paid to your landlord, utility company or other vendor/service provider. When you are referred to The Home Front Cares, one of our case workers moves quickly to review your application and send it to our Case Review Committee (CRC). The CRC is comprised of five board members, three of whom must approve the grant via an electronic "drop box." When the CRC approves your case, checks are cut almost immediately, except on weekends and holidays. We will verify your military service along with financial needs, but we are built to move fast. Many of our grants are approved in 24 to 48 hours.

We can be the bridge that saves you from being evicted or having your power turned off.
